Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Localist, a directory product operated by Konigle Pte Ltd ("Konigle", "we", "us", "our") at localistko.konigle.app and on Localist-powered directory pages served via konigle.com. By accessing or using Localist you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Localist provides:
- Public directory pages listing local businesses by vertical and city, sourced from the Google Places API and ranked by a published methodology.
- A self-service flow for business owners to claim their listing (verified via Google Business Profile), enhance it with owner-supplied content, and pay a subscription for the claim tier.
- An optional Featured Partner placement where owners can pay for additional visibility in a clearly labelled "Featured Partners" section on a directory page.
- A request-to-be-added flow for owners whose business does not yet appear on a directory page.
3. Accounts and authentication
To claim a listing, you must authenticate via Google Business Profile and demonstrate that you manage the Google Place ID for the business being claimed. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
4. Owner content
You retain ownership of content you submit to Localist (descriptions, photos, services, FAQs, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Konigle a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting Localist. You represent that your content does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with applicable law. You are solely responsible for your content and any consequences of publishing it.
5. Public data and the Google Places API
Unclaimed listings and base data on claimed listings (name, address, website, rating, reviews, hours) are sourced from the Google Places API and are displayed with attribution per Google's terms. Google Places data is refreshed periodically; we do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party data. If you are a listed business and the underlying Google Places data is incorrect, the canonical place to correct it is your Google Business Profile — once corrected with Google, the change will flow to Localist on the next refresh. Owners who have claimed their listing may also override certain fields in their Localist dashboard.
6. Payments and subscriptions
Paid features (claim subscription and Featured Partner placements) are billed through our payment partner. Prices are displayed at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Unless otherwise required by law, fees are non-refundable. You authorize Konigle and its payment partner to charge your payment method for the fees you agree to at checkout and for renewals.
6.1 Featured Partner placements
A Featured Partner placement reserves a slot in a clearly labelled "Featured Partners" section on a specific directory page for the term you purchase. Featured slots are separate from the merit-ranked Top 10 organic listings; they do not affect organic ranking. Featured slots may be capped to a maximum number per page; availability is on a first-paid, first-served basis subject to our editorial standards. We reserve the right to decline or remove a Featured placement that violates these Terms or our content guidelines, with a prorated refund.
7. Editorial control and ranking
Localist uses a published Confidence Score methodology to rank organic listings on directory pages; the methodology may evolve over time. We do not accept payment to alter organic rank. We reserve the right to refuse, remove, or modify listings that violate these Terms, our content guidelines, or applicable law, including spam, fraud, illegal content, hate speech, or content that would expose Konigle to legal liability.
8. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Claim a listing for a business you do not own or are not authorized to manage.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute Localist data in violation of our terms or Google's terms.
- Interfere with the operation of the service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or probe for vulnerabilities outside of a coordinated disclosure programme.
- Use Localist to harass, defame, or harm others.
- Violate any applicable law or third-party right.
9. Takedown and DMCA
To report content that infringes your rights or violates these Terms, email takedown@konigle.com with the URL, a description of the issue, your contact information, and (for intellectual-property claims) a good-faith statement and signature. We target a response within 7 business days. We may, in our discretion, remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action while investigating.
10. Termination
You may stop using Localist and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or as required by law. Upon termination, your right to use Localist ends; sections that by their nature survive termination (payment, indemnity, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
Localist is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that third-party data (including Google Places data) is accurate or current.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Konigle will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of Localist. Konigle's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Konigle for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or (b) one hundred Singapore dollars (SGD 100).
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Konigle and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms or any applicable law.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above will be updated when changes are published. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice through the service or by email to claimed owners.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
